Tommie Lou O'Donniley, Memphis, TN, daughter of Claudine Rigsby & Thomas J O'Donniley, sister to Jerry R O'Donniley, & best friend of Nita Mayo, has passed away in her home in Germantown, TN, surrounded by family while Love Me Tender by Elvis Presley played, on 2/20/24 at the age of 82.
Tommie Lou was born with a developmental delay in Carol County TN to parents that joined with other parents of special needs children to help pave the way for people with disabilities. She was able to attend the Lenox school for special education & later worked & retired from SOS Industries after 40 years of service.
She was well known in the community attending her family church, Leawood Baptist Church. She loved Elvis. She square danced with the Regan Ranch Hands for many years. She was well known for her handmade potholders, latch hook projects, & loved to craft with family. She bowled several years with the Special Olympics King Pins Cordova.
She leaves behind her niece & great niece, Monica & October Summerfield, family Nelly & Rodney Romero, cousins Eddie, Suzanne, Dianne, Billie, & Tom. Second cousins Kelly, Harold, Brandon, Amanda, Andy, & Beth. She loved without an agenda & will never be forgotten.
A visitation for Ms. Tommie will be held Saturday, March 2, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave, Memphis, TN 38122. A funeral service will occur Saturday, March 2, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 4925 Summer Ave, Memphis, TN 38122. A graveside will occur Saturday, March 2, 2024 from 3:30 PM to 3:45 PM at Memphis Memory Gardens, 6444 Raleigh Lagrange Rd, Memphis, TN 38134.
